Garbage & Hazardous Waste

Residents who live in a single family unit in the Village and Town of Somers receive weekly curb-side garbage and bi-weekly household recycling services.  The Village and Town of Somers contracts these services with a private vendor.  The costs are included in the Village and Town of Somers budget and paid by property owners in their annual tax bill.

The Village of Somers operates a Yard Waste Center to compost or recycle specified organic yard materials.  It is located on the Village/Town Hall property and all Village and Town residents are welcome to use it free of charge.

Hazardous Waste

Pheasant Run/Waste Management Landfill sponsors one free household hazardous waste collection every year for Kenosha County residents.  The site is located at the Kenosha County Administrative Building on Highways 45 and 50 in Bristol, Wisconsin.  The date is typically the first Saturday in May.  This collection is open to any Kenosha County resident.  Please bring identification.  Telephone Pheasant Run/Waste Management Landfill 262-857-7956 with questions.

What if I move into or away from Somers?  If you live in a single family unit, the vendor is contracted to pick up household garbage and recycling at that address.  There is no need to contact anyone.
