The original and the second Pike River School house buildings are located at Hawthorn Hollow Nature Sanctuary & Arboretum, Highway 31 (Green Bay Road) between Highways A and JR just west of Petrifying Springs Park. Self-guided tours are available. Contact Hawthorn Hollow for information regarding hours, tour times, events, etc.
Meticulously preserved and renovated, the original and second Pike River Schoolhouse buildings have been placed in a prairie-like setting. Visitors can step inside the school houses, sit in old fashioned desks, and enjoy learning about what it was like to attend school in the 1800’s.
Additional history of Pike River School can be found on Somers Wisconsin Pioneer History: Pike River School.
