The County of Kenosha is overseeing three pavement preservation projects in 2015 that will improve roads in the Town of Somers.  The projects involve overlay of new asphalt, new pavement re-striping, railroad crossing marking, and crushed limestone shouldering.  The pavement preservation projects effectively extends the service life of roads by a minimum of fifteen years, accordingly to Gary A. Sipsma, Director of Highway/Highway Commissioner for Kenosha County.
Projects:

  • Highway E (12th Street) from I-94 east to Highway EA (absolute completion by June 25, 2015 to accommodate the annual Somers July 4th parade)
  • Highway E (12th Street) from Highway 31 east to 30th Avenue
  • Highway Y (22nd Avenue) from Birch Road north to “KR” County Line Road
