The Somers Village and Town Boards held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 27th inside the original 1857 Somers Town Hall building located at Hawthorn Hollow Nature Sanctuary and Arboretum, 880 Green Bay Road, Somers.  The change in venue for the board meetings was scheduled to give recognition to a new museum quality historical display recently installed inside the old Town Hall building that gives Somers history reaching back to the 1830’s. Jacqueline Klapproth Nelson, Somers Historian, made a special presentation about Somers early pioneer history and how Hawthorn Hollow became the new home of several historical buildings in Somers.  Joe Fonk, Director of Hawthorn Hollow also presented the mission and future plans for the nature sanctuary.
