Kenosha County has rescheduled its spring 2023 culvert rehabilitation projects due to the weather.

One of the projects will take place in Somers. Highway Y (22nd Avenue) will be closed to through traffic between 14th Place and Highway E (12th Street) beginning Monday, Feb. 20 and is expected to reopen on or before Friday, March 3. A detour will be posted. Please note that the project is weather-dependent and subject to change.

Other project updates throughout the county are:

  • One lane of Highway C (Wilmot Road) between Highway W (Fox River Road) and Highway B (304th Avenue) will close the week of Feb. 6 and is expected o reopen Tuesday, Feb. 14. The full highway will be closed to resurface the pavement March 27 and 28.
  • Highway K (60th Street) near 241st Court will be closed to through traffic from Monday, Feb. 6, until Friday, Feb. 10. A detour will be posted.
  • Highway D (172nd Avenue) south of Highway A (Seventh Street) will be closed to through traffic from Monday, Feb. 13, until Friday, Feb. 17. A detour will be posted.
  • Highway C west of 286th Avenue will be closed to through traffic from Wednesday, Feb. 15, until Thursday, Feb. 23. A detour will be posted.
