The reconstruction of Highway S is winding down for the season. Traffic patterns will be changing starting Dec. 8, 2020.
- Highway S from East Frontage Road to 38th Street (Highway N) is scheduled to reopen to traffic.
- Westbound traffic will shift to the newly constructed lanes of Highway S from East Frontage Road to Green Bay Road.
- Eastbound traffic will shift to the north, from just east of East Frontage Road to just west of Highway H, to the newly constructed westbound lanes of Highway S.
- Highway H is scheduled to have one lane open in each direction, with dedicated turn lanes.
Motorists should be aware of the new traffic pattern, obey traffic control signs and pavement markings, and drive safely throughout the work zone. The project team thanks you for your patience and cooperation throughout this project!
The Highway S project is on schedule to be completed in 2021. Winter shutdown is scheduled for mid-December with crews to resume work in spring of 2021.
