Gov. Evers issued an executive order requiring face coverings indoors throughout the state. The order goes into effect Aug. 1 and is scheduled to expire Sept. 28.
Under the order, Wisconsin residents ages five and older are required to wear face coverings when in an enclosed space with anyone outside their household.
The order provides some exceptions for:
- Eating
- Drinking
- Swimming
- Individuals with health conditions or disabilities
More details about exceptions to the order are here.
Violators could face a fine up to $200.
The governor strongly recommends face coverings outdoors when physical distancing is not possible.
