Somers new garbage vendor, John Disposal Service, will start pick up on the first week of 2020. New stickers for existing cans are being ordered.

Garbage will be picked up Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The Wednesday pick up route will be eliminated. The current Wednesday route will be split between Thursday and Friday.

Recycling will still be picked up every other week but will be split between two weeks.

The first week of the year will be a transition week as collection will be delayed due to New Year’s Day.

Collection for Thursday Jan. 2 2020 will be delayed by one day. It will be picked up the following day by Johns Disposal. On that day recycling for route A & B will be picked up as well.

The Friday route will be picked up Saturday Jan. 4, 2020. Recycle for route A and B will be pick up too.

Monday Jan, 6, 2020 will be the first regular pick up day of the new schedule. Recycling will be picked up for route B that week.
