The Somers Fire and Rescue Department used a house purchased last year by Kenosha County on the east side of Highway 31, just north of Highway JR, for a training exercise on Sunday July 29, 2019. The property was the last private home surrounded by Petrifying Springs Park land.

The training exercise allowed firefighters to train with live-fire inside a structure. That type of training is invaluable.
