“On April 25, 1843, a new township was created in the Wisconsin Territory by the name of Pike.
That was a historic day for our community.

One week later, on May 1, 1843, the Town of Pike swore in its first Chairman and Board of Supervisors.
That was a historic day for our community.

Eight years later, on May 11, 1851, the Town of Pike changed its name to the Town of Somers.
That was a historic day for our community.

Today, June 18, 2015, 164 years later, our new Village of Somers swore in its
very first Village President and Trustees.
This is a historic day for our community.

Change is now official in the Village of Somers.

Along with Town Chairman, Ben Harbach, and the Town Board of Supervisors, residents and businesses can be assured the Village AND Town will face challenges together and manage growth together.
We are here to be responsive to the needs of our community and look forward to a prosperous future for the entire community of Somers.”
