La Crosse-based Kwik Trip officially opened its new Village of Somers location with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, September 27, 2017.  Kwik Trip owners, managers, and store associates greeted everyone with a warm welcome to their new store located on Highway 31 near Wal Mart, Sam’s Club, and Festival Foods.  As part of the ribbon cutting ceremony, the company presented a check for $1,000 each to the Somers Fire & Rescue Association and the Salvation Army in support of their policy of giving back to the communities they serve.

Kwik Trip is not your typical convenience gas station/convenience store.  They operate their own bakery, dairy, and kitchens, making everything they sell fresh at a good price.  The company started in 1965 with a single store in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  Today, it is owned and managed by multi-generation members of the Zietlow family.  Kwik Trip is not a franchise organization but rather all stores are company owned.  In December 2012, Don Zietlow of Kwik Trip was awarded Retail Leader of the Year by CSP Magazine (convenience store and petroleum retailing publication).  Click here to read article.
