Information

The Village of Somers is the home of Hawthorn Hollow, a private, non-profit nature sanctuary and arboretum, owned and operated by the Hyslop Foundation.

Admission to Hawthorn Hollow is always free to the public; however, as a non-profit organization, donations are always welcome.

This 40 acre campus offers groomed walking trails that wind through the woods of the Pike River Valley.  Native prairie plantings and surroundings offer the perfect landscape for the Somers Township historical buildings located on site.  Historic buildings are open from late spring through fall.  Guided tours are available for schools, scouts, nature clubs, etc. for a nominal fee, or you can enjoy a leisure self-guided tour throughout the grounds on your own.
