Tuesday, December 5, 2013, was the final class for a group of thirty-five students who enrolled in the twelve-week UW-Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Level I Course held in the training room of the Somers Town Hall.  All thirty-five students passed their test which was cause for a celebration reception and cake.  The home-made decorated cake was provided by Donna Zarovy, a member of the support staff in the UW-Extension office in Kenosha County.

Barb Larson and Patti Nagai, Horticulture Educators, team teach the UW-Extension Master Gardener Level I class.  Each year, two different class locations are selected.  2013 classes were held at the Somers Town Hall in Kenosha County and the Lakeside Curative Services facility in Racine.  “The Town of Somers staff and facility were terrific, and we appreciate their hospitality very much.  The Somers Town Hall training room environment was perfect for presentations and workshops,” Patti Nagai said.  Anyone interested in volunteer opportunities can contact The Racine/Kenosha Master Gardener Association.
