The Village and Town will begin its 28th Street paving project with the next two (2) weeks.  The work, described below, will occur between 30th Avenue west to 39th Avenue.

  • Pulverize, grade and ditch, asphalt binder layer, asphalt surface layer, manhole adjustment, asphalt driveway, gravel driveway, shouldering, cross culvert, driveway culvert at 28th Street. The cost of this project is to be split 50/50 with the City of Kenosha.  Total project is $222,259.45.  Somers portion is $111,129.73.

Construction will require some temporary closure of the street for ditching and paving work.  Access will be maintained at all times for both emergency and garbage/recycling vehicles.  It is expected construction will take approximately one (1) month, weather permitting.
