The Somers Village Board of Trustees awarded a $472,000.00 Street Paving Project to Stark Pavement Corp. of Brookfield, Wisconsin by a vote of 7 to 0 at their meeting held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016.  The project involves the following:

4th Street

•    Pulverize full width, regrade to required 2% slope and replace at the intersection of 38th Avenue finishing at the address of 4600 4th Street.
•    Foundation preparation, binder 3”, surface 2”, asphalt driveway, shouldering, 4th Street cross culvert, road stripping.

27th Street

•    Pulverize full width of pavement, regrade to required 2% slope and replace starting at the intersection of 30th Avenue finishing at the intersection of 39th Avenue.
•    Foundation preparation, grade and pitch ditch lines entire length of project, binder 3”, surface 2”, 27th Street culvert, driveway culverts, parking area culverts, storm drain culvert, road stripping.
•    Joint project with City of Kenosha. Costs shared 50-50.

38th Avenue

•    Foundation preparation, 4th Street finishing at the end of cul-de-sac dead end, 4th Street intersection milling, heavy tack, surface 2-1/2”, asphalt driveway, shouldering.

47th Avenue

•    Pulverize full width of pavement, regrade to required 2% of slope and replace through the intersection of 16th Street and finishing through the intersection of 15th Street.
•    Foundation preparation, binder 3”, surface 2”, manhole adjustment, water valve box adjustment, asphalt driveway, shouldering, 47th Avenue cross culvert.

95th Avenue

•    Foundation preparation, 13th Street finishing at the end of the cul-de-sac dead end, 13th Street intersection milling, heavy tack, surface 2-1/2”, manhole adjustment, asphalt driveway, shouldering.

 

Timothy Kitzman, Clerk-Treasurer, publicly opened and read the bids on June 22, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at the Somers Village/Town Hall.  Bids were received from Stark Pavement Corporation of Brookfield, Wisconsin in the amount of $472,000.00 and Payne & Dolan, Inc. of Kenosha, Wisconsin for $584,682.15.
