Drug Take Back Day

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is April 27.

Kenosha County is taking part in the event by inviting residents to bring unwanted medication from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to these locations:

  • Kenosha County Job Center, 8600 Sheridan Road in Kenosha.
  • Kenosha County Center, 19600 75th St. in Bristol.

The event is organized by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration to educate the public about the potential for abuse of prescription drugs and how to properly dispose of them as well as over-the-counter medicine.

Disposing of drugs through approved means also protects local waterways from contamination that ocucur  medicine is flushed down the toilet or thrown in the garbage.

Residents can drop off medications year-round at six different locations in the county.
In Somers, a drop-off box is located at the Fire Dept.. 7511 13th St. (Highway E). It is acessible Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
It is recommended to cross out any personal information if the medicine is in its original package.

  • Prescription Drugs
  • Over-the-counter medications
  • Ointment and creams
