MINUTES OF THE SOMERS TOWN PARK COMMITTEE July 19, 2010 Meeting was called to order at 6:02 by Mary Lichter, Committee members present were Gordon Lake, Tim Fulton, Nina Smith, Mark Pellicori, and Mary Lichter. Also present were Fred Loomis, Town board Supervisor. A motion was made to approve the minutes for May and June by Nina Smith. All present agreed to approve the minutes. There were no citizen comments. Nina Smith reported on the state of the Somers Farmers Market. The car show went very good, and two more vendors (produce & eggs, jam, and honey) were been added. A jewelry vendor is also expected to start this Saturday. There was discussion of ideas on how to boost market attendance and vendor participation. Nina Smith submitted a receipt from the Farmers market for reimbursement. There was no information available to speak on the financial report. Fred Loomis reported on the status of the HO-Chunk Nation property. The handover of the property is on course and administration is waiting for a meeting to take place with the tribal elders for a formal decision. Proposal to amend the park naming policy was tabled for next month. Fred Loomis reported on the progress of Fabiano Park. He took pictures of the improvements, and comments were made as to what was needed to be done to complete the project. There was a brief discussion on the Neumiller property. Tim Fulton spoke about a consultant to assess the wetlands, and see how best utilize the park. A motion to adjourn was made by Nina Smith and seconded by Mary Lichter at 8:20.
